Sidekick doesn't have to live only inside the app. You can connect it to a messaging app you already check throughout the day, so you can ask questions or get updates on the go.

Supported channels: Telegram, WhatsApp, and Slack (Slack is rolling out, see below).

How to connect: open the Sidekick panel and use the Take me with you card on a fresh chat, or the small round button at the top of the panel (its dot turns green once at least one of your own channels is connected). Pick your platform. Sidekick shows a one-time code, good for 60 minutes, that ties that channel to your Aventide account. For Telegram and WhatsApp, scan the QR with your phone and the code goes along automatically (on WhatsApp, just hit send).

Slack works the same way (a private chat with Sidekick) in your own Slack workspace. You'll need a Slack account and a workspace to add it to; if you don't use Slack, WhatsApp or Telegram is quicker.

  1. Click Add to Slack on the Slack tab (or scan its QR with your phone).
  2. Pick your workspace and click Allow. Slack may say the app isn't approved by Slack; that only means it isn't in Slack's Marketplace yet. If your workspace needs an admin to approve apps, Slack sends them the request.
  3. You're connected. Sidekick messages you in Slack, and it's in the Slack app on your phone too. No code to type.

On a phone: Slack's Allow screen opens in your phone's browser, which needs its own Slack sign-in even if the Slack app is signed in. If it asks for your workspace's Slack URL, it's the address ending in .slack.com. It's usually quickest to add Sidekick from a computer; it then shows up in the Slack app on your phone by itself.

Already have Sidekick in your Slack (a teammate added it), or did it ask you for a code? Search Slack for Aventide Sidekick and send it the code shown on the Slack tab.

If the Slack tab says Slack is coming soon, it isn't switched on yet. Use WhatsApp or Telegram for now.

What you get: the same Sidekick, in your messaging app. Ask it questions, get your Daily Brief, approve pending drafts, and more, all without opening the app.

Per-person, not per-business: each teammate connects their own channel individually. Your Telegram link is yours; a teammate would set up their own, and the connection dot only ever reflects your own linked channels, never a teammate's.

If the dot looks unlit: that can mean you haven't connected anything yet, or that Sidekick simply couldn't check just now. Either way, click it to open the same panel and try connecting.

Disconnecting: you can disconnect a channel at any time from the same panel. Under Connected channels, click Disconnect next to the platform. This only ever removes your own link, never a teammate's.
